It may have initially been created in Egypt, but later spread to what is now Israel, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Making it even more appealing for the big game day? Fatteh is traditionally served as a convivial dish. For instance, it was often part of the meals served during the Fatimid Caliphate in Egypt from 969-1171 CE, a time when rulers would host street feasts for Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the month of Ramadan fasting.
