We currently anticipate the Flood Alert level not to be met during the next high tide at around midday, 12/09/2025. Our incident rooms are on standby and we are closely monitoring the situation. Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water. Flooding of roads and low-lying land is possible, property flooding is not expected. Forecast high-water is 9:45 PM on 11/09/25 with a level of 7.37 mAOD, a Force 6 south westerley direction. Times are local and refer to the high-water time at Avonmouth, mAOD is height above average sea level. Conditions may apply one to two hours either side of the high tide. Areas most at risk include the tidal River Avon from Sea Mills to Conham in Bristol and between the Avonmouth Bridge and Shirehampton Park including Pill and Shirehampton. We are closely monitoring the situation and will be closing flood gates at Pill and Shirehampton. Please be careful along beaches, promenades, coastal footpaths and roads where conditions may be hazardous. Higher than normal water levels are expected along the Tyne Estuary again tomorrow morning, Friday 12/09/2025, between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM due to high tides. The peak level at Newcastle Quayside is expected to be between 3.1 and 3.2 mAOD. We will continue to monitor forecasts closely, however at this stage, no property flooding is anticipated. Please be careful along riverside footpaths and low lying land and roads which may be flooded.
